Weekly MUKC update – O-Week

VKR Seminar

The VKR seminar will be held on the 6th and 7th March. Please please please attend if you are able to!
The deadline for registration is the 28th of February and you can register in this link.


VKR Grading Panels

The upcoming VKR Grading Examinations held as part of the VKR Seminar will be the first VKR examinations held for 18 months.
Examinations for 6-4 Kyu are scheduled for Saturday afternoon, while those for 3 Kyu to 4 Dan are scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
There are currently only two 5th Dans registered for the Seminar (out of 18 VKR 5th Dan members) and only nine 4th Dans (out of 21 VKR 4th Dan Members).
The VKR had been planning to create grading panels from those attending the VKR Seminar.

In case that is not possible, could any 4th or 5th Dan members with grading Panel experience who are available to attend as a Grading Panel member if required on either the Saturday or the Sunday but is NOT attending the Seminar please contact Yakov Macak Sensei directly on macakcy@optusnet.com.au.


Returning to physical training

Welcome back! We returned to physical training on Saturday and training times are back to normal!

When attending training, please remember to bring a mask and your phone!


Beginner’s course starting this Wednesday!!

This week is O-week, which means you will start seeing alot of people peeking in through the doors and even more people within those doors on Wednesday. Just a mini-headsup.

If you are free during this week and can volunteer to help out in O-week, please let Toney know and he can get you sorted out 🙂


30th Anniversary preparation!

We’re holding our 30th Anniversary at the end of the year! We need alot of volunteers to help plan and prepare for the event. If you are able to help out, please reply to this email or let one of the committee members know.


Storage of past photos and compilation video about MUKC

We are creating a storage to store all past photos to document as much of the past (almost) 30 years of history of MUKC! If you have any photos you would not mind sharing, you can upload it here.

Toney is also working on the compilation video and any videos you share would be awesome to have! (i.e. Shiais, social events, etc)

All will be held in Games Hall.

Manners and etiquette

Gradings are coming soon, new people are coming in. So its time to brush up on the small bits of information you may have forgotten over time!
